My name is Daniel Salzmann and I am a sergeant with the Wheaton Police Department. In late April of 2020, our department experienced the loss of one of our retired Auxiliary officers. The death was tragic and unexpected. At this time, we were forced to grieve and go through service arrangements in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and associated Illinois Governor restrictions which drastically altered how we could operate. What could’ve and should’ve been a very difficult process was made smooth and navigable because of Susan and Tim Hultgren. Tim and Susan with The Hultgren Funeral Home in Wheaton were thorough, understanding, and compassionate. They helped us organize a multi-jurisdictional funeral for a former Wheaton Auxiliary officer at the gravesite which felt both genuine, organized, and heartfelt. Susan even photographed the service for the loved ones that could not attend. I have had much experience with both Tim and Susan Hultgren and consider each one to be an absolute pleasure, and this was no different. Their attention to detail, compassion in the face of loss, and understanding continue to impress me. I highly recommend the Hultgren Funeral Home in Wheaton. Tim and Susan Hultgren are good people who quite evidently care deeply about their business and the people they serve. I sincerely thank you. - Sergeant Daniel Salzmann (Wheaton PD)

I cannot begin to thank you and the folks there enough for all the help and support you provided the last week or so with my dad's home-going. I can say without fear of contradiction that we could not have done it without your support and care during this time. Scott and Darcy were such a great support team during this time and I truly appreciate you coming in and being part, even though I know you weren't feeling well.
I don't know why this made such an impact on me but in one of the email exchanges with Scott I had asked if my dad had been picked up yet from Friendship Village and Scott's response was 'yes, he is in our care now.' It seemed like the weight of the world had been lifted off my shoulders at that point and I knew everything was going to be OK.
Thanks for the ministry and service of Hultgren Funeral Home. We will forever be grateful for your help.
Jonathan for the entire Freeburg Family
Just a short note to thank you for all your considerate efforts on behalf of my family. We do appreciate it, and the whole thing came off very well, thank to you and your staff. Please pass along my thanks.
Dear Hultgren Family,
My husband and I want to thank you for your deep care for us during the loss of our baby boy. In a time when we didn’t seem to know which way was up, you guys went above and beyond your call. The hearse to transport our son’s body as a last minute gift to us was so kind. We could have never afforded that. And to take pictures of the service for us, hand out programs, and just being so gentle… it was all so beautiful. We felt your presence. Clearly you have been through your own losses and know how to love others in difficult times. Thank you. We are so glad our church pointed us to you.

Thank your for the beautiful service you gave for Merl.
It was so much appreciated. We all miss him so much but God has been faithful in giving me his peace and care.
Thank you again for being so thoughtful and caring.
Thank you to the entire staff of Hultgren Funeral Home.
You made the entire process much easier for Mike and myself. Your grace and kindness and attention to details were much appreciated. The facility was lovely and comfortable.
We would like to thank Tim Hultgren for transforming the photo of Brian into a work of art.
We would also like to thank Scott, who truly went above and beyond the call of duty. We could not have planned this service without you. Your genuine concern and kindness, your prompt communication, and your time and patience made a very difficult time bearable. Thank you so much.

We as a family wanted to express our deep appreciation for the outstanding professional service you provided.
I know the extended guidance and sincere caring you gave is far above what is found in the average funeral home.
Thank you for going to such great lengths to make certain all was perfect.
We will never forget how much you cared and gave of yourself.
