Roger K. Fjelstul
Roger was born in Ossian, Iowa and raised in Decorah, Iowa. He graduated from Decorah High School with the Class of 1950. Roger attended Luther College from 1950-1952. He then served from 1952-1954 in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Roger returned to Luther College and finished his degree, graduating in 1956.
He married Roberta Olson, whose father owned and operated the former Olson Funeral Home in Decorah. Roger graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago, Illinois and then joined his father-in-law in what became the Olson-Fjelstul Funeral Home.
In 1979, Roger purchased the former Steine Funeral Home in Decorah and ran the two businesses in separate locations until 1986. Following the construction of a building addition, the two firms were combined into one location at 306 East Water Street. Roger and Roberta also owned and operated the Decorah Furniture Co. for many years.
They are the parents of three children, Scott of Decorah, Jill Fjelstul of Orlando, FL. and Fay Jelacic of Fountain Hills, AZ. and five grandchildren.
Roger has been an active member of the Decorah community, serving on many boards for various organizations. His memberships include First Lutheran Church, Decorah Rotary, the Elk's Club and Oneota Golf and Country Club.
Roger died July 18, 2009.

Scott was born and raised in Decorah. He the fourth generation of the Fjelstul family to own and operate Fjelstul Funeral Home.
Scott graduated from Decorah High School in 1979 and earned a Bachelors Degree in Management from Luther College in 1983. He graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago, Illinois in 1984.
He then worked at Westover and Dunns Funeral Homes in Des Moines for 18 months. Scott returned to Decorah in April, 1986, and joined his father, Roger, in the family business. Scott has been very active in the Decorah community, having served on many boards. He also is the Men's Golf Coach at Luther College, a position he has held since March 1988.
Scott is married to Ann, who is a fourth grade teacher for the Decorah Community Scools. They have two sons, John and Jay. In his spare time, Scott likes to spend time with his family and he enjoys golfing.
Scott is a member of First Lutheran Church, Decorah Rotary Club, Decorah Elks Club, and Oneota Golf and Country Club.

Randy was born and raised in Decorah. He began his career in funeral service in November 1960, for the former Steine Funeral Home.
Randy worked for the funeral home for two years and then attended Luther College. He graduated from the Wisconsin Institute of Mortuary Science in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1965.
Randy returned to the Steine Funeral Home and worked there until the business was sold to Roger Fjelstul in 1979. He continues to be an active member of the staff at Fjelstul Funeral Home.
Randy is married to Jeanne and they have one son, Karl. Randy is a member of Decorah Lutheran Church and the Luren Singing Society.
