F. Darrin Sims
Darrin was raised and educated in Soda Springs and graduated from Soda Springs High in 1991. He then served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Dallas, Texas. Following his mission he attended Idaho State University where he met Billikaye Minor and they were later married in the Logan LDS Temple. They moved to Gresham, Oregon where Darrin attended Mt. Hood Community College and graduated from the Mortuary Science Program. Following school they returned to Soda Springs to work with his father at the Sims Funeral Home where they have lived for the past 16 years. Darrin and his wife have five children. The whole family enjoys camping and outdoor activities. Darrin is a licensed Mortician and a licensed Insurance agent.
F. Duayne Sims
Duayne Sims was raised and educated in Ogden, Utah. He married Michelle Larsen and they have 5 children.
He was a member of the U.S. Air Force Reserve Unit both active and inactive for 6 years.
Duayne graduated from Ogden High School and attended Weber State College, graduated from the California College of Mortuary Science, attended College of the Desert in Palm Springs, California and Graduated from the National Foundation of Funeral Service School of Management.
He has worked for Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills Funeral Home in California; Lindquist and Sons Mortuaries in Ogden for 14 years; and Fitzhenry Funeral Home in Indio California for 3 years prior to purchasing the funeral home in Soda Springs in 1979.
Duayne has been appointed to the Idaho State Board of Morticians.
He has served as Caribou County Coroner for 27 years.
He has always enjoyed being active in the community. He is a member of the Soda Springs Lions Club, Caribou County Shooting Club and was on the Caribou County Fair Board for 15 years.
His hobbies include “Model A” automobiles, Radio Control Airplanes, target shooting and collecting guns.
