Pat Grijalva
Bereavement Care Specialist
After retiring from a career as a Human Resource Manager, Pat became a certified Grief Recovery Specialist through the Grief Recovery Institute now located in Bend, Oregon. She has been facilitating our Grief Recovery Program since 2011 and offers the group program twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall.
The Grief Recovery Method is a structured program is completed in 7 weeks. It has a beginning and an end with specific actions taken each week to help individuals move beyond death, divorce or other losses. Each participant will receive a copy of the Grief Recovery Handbook and other materials. The groups meet once a week in either evening or afternoon sessions lasting 2-3 hours.
Most of us never give any thought to how to deal with an emotional loss, until we find ourselves overwhelmed with the pain of grief. It is at that point that we discover how very few tools we have to deal with that pain, and that most of them do not really work!
The Grief Recovery Method has been shown to be an “evidence based” program which can actually make a difference for those dealing with the emotional pain of loss.
Our next group program will begin on Tuesday , October 1, 2019 (evening) or Wednesday, October 2, 2019 (afternoon). Please call 805-735-3773 to reserve a space in the program.
