December 23, 1937 - November 08, 2020
Winnifred Louise Collins Spaulding passed away on November 8, 2020.
Her long, hard-fought battle with cancer ended in the home she built with her devoted and caring husband of 66 years, James H. Spaulding, Jr. He, along with their children, Becky (Donald) Presley, James, III, Timothy, and Gene (Lisa), were by her side when she went to meet the Lord.
She will also be sorely missed by her eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
Winnifred was born on December 23, 1937, and is predeceased by her parents Alvin T., Sr. and Catherine Collins; two sisters; Catherine Grant and Elizabeth Johnson and three brothers; Clifford, Alvin, Jr., and Otis.
She is survived by three sisters; Marguerite Spaulding, Martha Dreggors, and Mary Lynne Rowell and four brothers; Gerald, Sr., David, Sr., Daniel, and Phillip. Winnifred is also survived by her much loved church family at Good Samaritan Church, where she has been a faithful member for its seventy-five years of existence.
She lived her entire life in the place where she was born, which is where she died and will be buried. She devoted herself to building a loving home for her family and will be remembered for her love of the holidays, especially Thanksgiving, when she opened her home to host an annual family reunion for around two hundred family members.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Good Samaritan Church, 44 Jericho Road with Dr. David Thompson officiating.
Burial will follow in Dunn Creek Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Peeples Event Center, 14165 N. Main Street.
