Sara Pat Ethridge Meche, 55, was born January 19, 1964, to Gloria Orphey Ethridge and the late Leroy Ethridge, Sr.
Sara attended Cherry Street Elementary School, Molo Junior High and graduated from Washington High School in 1982. Sara worked at Delta Down Race Track and subbed at various schools as a teacher’s aide. She was also a huge basketball fan and was a choir member at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. When Sara could no longer work because of her heath problems, she spent her time helping her family and friends when she felt good.
She loved her family and friends. She loved reading her bible everyday and would fall asleep with her prayer book in her hand every night. Her greatest love of all was her daughter, Ashley Renee, her husband, John and her mother, Gloria Ethridge. She came to visit her mother everyday.
She was preceded in death by her son, John, Jr; her father, Leroy, Sr; one brother, Gillispie Ethridge; father and mother-in-law, Thilman and Loretta Meche; grandparents, Will and Mattie W. Ethridge, Lawrence and Nola Orphey and Lawrence and Vena Buckins.
She leaves behind a loving legacy to be cherished by her loving husband, John; daughter, Ashley Renee; her mother, Gloria Orphey Ethridge; two brothers, Albert J. (Geraldine) Richard, Leroy (Shari) Ethridge, Jr; two sisters, Deborah J. Ethridge and Gloria Ethridge (Robert Schexnayder) and a host of nieces and nephews. She loved them as if they were her own children. One of the great nephew, Karson, was the apple of her eye. Sara adored purple as being her favorite color.
The family wish to thank Dr. Michael Cormier and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
