Sam (Samuel) Kinder, 68, of Mexico passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at his home.

Mr. Kinder was born on August 18, 1950 in Boliver, MO; the son of Rev. Roy and Anna Livengood Kinder. He married Patricia (Patti) Noel Kinder on May 26, 1968 in Paris, MO. She preceded him in death on February 7, 2014. Sam was an insurance agent for Mutual of Omaha Insurance for several years before he went to work with his brother at Kinder Machine where he later retired. Sam and Patti loved to travel which they did quite often and as often as they could, traveling in several different areas. Some of Sam’s hobbies included working on cars, hunting where he was an avid turkey caller, “Card Night” where him and his buddies would gather at this house frequently and have a boy’s night where they would learn who’s got the best poker face. He most of all loved to spend time with his family and close friends. Sam was also the first resident of Paris to obtain a motorcycle license which he was very proud of.

Sam is survived by his two children; Brian Kinder, of Mexico, MO and Scott (Samantha) Kinder of Moberly, MO; two brothers; David (Tonja) Kinder of Moberly, MO and Jim (Angie) Kinder of Lee’s Summit, MO; one sister, Beverly Kinder; a sister-in-law, Hazel Kinder; one granddaughter, Bailey Johnson; one great-granddaughter, Opal Dunkerson; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Roy and Anna Kinder; his lovely wife Patti; one brother, Steve Kinder.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 15, 2019 at the Agnew Funeral home in Paris, MO with Reverend Donna Scott officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, from 5 to 8 at the Funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).
