Ruth Wright, 85, of Monroe City, formerly of Perry, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at her home.
She was born on November 18, 1934 in Monroe County, the daughter of Ray and Edith Adkisson Howell. Ruth married Charles (Buck) Forbis on November 18, 1950 and he preceded her in death on September 2, 1992. She married Wesley Wright on February 5, 2000, in Centralia, MO and he survives at home. Other survivors include three children: Larry (Dawn) Forbis, Mary (Larry) Winn, Ronald (Jean) Forbis; two step-sons: Daniel (Lynn) Wright and Thomas Wright; sixteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by one daughter, Connie Yost: one son, Carl Forbis:
two sisters, Florence Buckman and Francis Howell, and one brother, Kenneth Howell.
Ruth loved hunting and fishing. She hunted with a bow until she was in her
60’s and with a rifle into her 70’s, fishing every chance she could. She loved playing cards with friends and family. Ruth loved family gatherings with her children and grandchildren for holidays or any other occasions. She liked to travel WITH HER HUSBAND and went to several different national parks. She, also, loved spending winters in the warmer weather of Texas where she enjoyed meeting and making friends from all over the country.
Ruth was a member of the First Baptist Church of Paris, and she, also, attended Monroe City Christian Church.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Walnut Grove Cemetery with Reverend Mark Sewell and Reverend Chad McMath officiating.
