Reginald Anthony “Reggie” Swope, 32, departed this life May 26, 2019 in Springfield, IL. Reggie was born January 31, 1987 in Peoria, IL, the son of Patricia Swope. He graduated from Lanphier High School and studied trades at Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, IL. Reggie was previously employed at Arby’s. He was most recently employed by Bricklayers Local #8 Union and Cement Mason Local #18 Union. Reggie was a member of The Pentecostal Church of Springfield, IL.
Reggie was the Rock of his Family. He was and Amazing and Loving person with a heart of Gold. That Gold Heart belonged to his Mother, Daughter and Niece. They were his World. Reggie had went away for 7 years only to return and become a better Person. He became the Man that they needed him to be. He was determined and set his mind to not let anything stop him from achieving the Goals and Dreams he had set for himself, his family and most of all the Special Ladies in his Life, his mother, daughter and niece. He always had a plan and a desire to improve his life as well as the life of others. Reggie never gave up no matter what came his way. He worked very hard to make these positive changes. His life made a 360 degree turn when he returned home. Reggie graduated High School with Honors and went on to college. Reggie graduated 2nd in his class from Lincoln Land Community College. He was extremely proud of himself as well was his family and friends. Reggie had became a Bricklayer with Local #8 of Illinois. He also became a Cement Mason with Local 18. All he wanted was to better his life and the life of his family. Reggie accomplished this and became a role model for others. He became a better person, Man, Son, Father, Uncle and friend. Reggie had Big Dreams and Goals for himself, family and friends. Reggie wanted everyone to Reach for the Stars and Set Goals to achieve all they can be, He believed that all you had to do is set your mind to it and you could achieve it. So with that lets all Reach for the Stars and obtain our dreams and be successful. Lets all strive for success as Reggie wished for us all. In the words and aspirations of Reggie” If you can Dream it you can you Achieve it, Reach for the Stars”
Reginald “Reggie” Swope was preceded in death by his Grandparents Robert Clayborn and Jenny Marie Andrews, Brother Darrel Reed and Nephews Tony Orlando Curtis Andrews and Tony Orlando Andrews.
He leaves to cherish his memories his Mother Patricia Swope, Daughter Desiree Lapinto, Brothers; Bobby Andrews, Tony Andrews, Tramell Furge, Thomas Echols, Quaneal Elchols, Xanthus Swope and Robert Collions. Sisters; Taquana Taylor, Ebony Swope, Valencia Swope, Orlanna Swope and Lisa Marshall. Special Niece Marrea Reed and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends and his beloved Dogs.
