Ralph DelMonico, 80 years old, of Yarmouthport MA and Naples FL passed away peacefully at home on April 4th 2018, with his loving wife Donna by his side. Born on May 23rd, 1937 in Providence, RI. Ralph was the beloved husband of Donna J. (Donahue) DelMonico. He is survived by his sister Carol and her husband Alvin Savage of North Providence RI, brother Henry and his wife Maureen DelMonico of Johnston RI. Ralph was a loving father to his son Ralph DelMonico Jr, and his wife Teresa of Scituate and Narragansett RI and Maura Chadwick and her husband Michael of Dracut and East Falmouth MA. He was the cherished grandfather to Matthew, Michael, Ralph DelMonico, and Catherine and James Chadwick, and granddaughter Miranda Meehan and grandson Kaleb. He is also survived by his wonderful sister-in-law Barbara Donahue, wife of the late James Donahue of Chatham MA. Ralph was a true and kind husband, father, grandfather brother, uncle and friend.
Ralph was the beloved uncle to Hankie, Todd, Kerri and Jill DelMonico, Brendan and Ava DelMonico, Maya and Avery Brosnick, and Riley Stulac. He was also the dear Uncle Duck to Danielle, Isabel, Molly and James Anderson. Ralph was the son of the late Salvatore and Linda DelMonico and brother of the late Thomas DelMonico. Raised in Johnston, RI he was a graduate of LaSalle Academy High School, class of 1954. Ralph attended RI School of Design, and was a member of the Plumbers Union Local #28 for over 50 years, and was the former owner of Delmonico Plumbing and Heating with his brother Henry.
Upon his retirement from plumbing in 1987, Ralph left RI and spent the remainder of his life at his beloved Cape Cod home, and enjoyed his winters in Naples Florida where he liked socializing around the pool with his many friends. During his retirement he enjoyed working part time at Pioneer Billiards with Bruce Lackey. Ralph was an avid reader who always had a book in his hand and was a lover of all things Italian. More than anything his most prized treasure was his family and many friends.
Ralph’s family wishes to offer a heartfelt thank you to Hope Hospice, and the many doctors and nurses who cared for him over the years at the Mugar Cancer Center. Most especially, his family will be forever grateful for Reid Page of Toronto Canada, Reid was a God send to Ralph and Donna during the hardest of times, his extraordinary kindness, love, support and friendship will not be forgotten.
Visiting hours for Ralph will be held on Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 1pm to 3pm at Morris, O’Connor & Blute Funeral Home, 58 Long Pond Drive, South Yarmouth, MA 02664. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church, Station Avenue, South Yarmouth at 10 am on Monday, April 9, 2018.
Ralph’s family will bring him home to Saint Francis Cemetery, Washington Street, Walpole, MA at Noon on Tuesday April 10, 2018 friends are welcome to meet them there. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hope Hospice, 765 Attucks Lane, Hyannis MA 02601 or a charity of your choice.
