Paul Anthony Gott was born on January 17, 1962 to Rita and Carl “Tommy” Gott in Martinez, California. He was a 5th Generation Californian living most his life in Contra Costa County. He was a brother to Lisa Gott, Mike Gott and Julie Siddall. He attended Ambrose Elementary and was later recruited to St. Peter Martyr where he played sports. He spent a lot of time with his friends at Ambrose Park. He made so many great memories there. Especially, with the yearly Port Chicago Reunion. He went to De La Salle his freshman year and later Paul Graduated in 1980 from Mt Diablo High School where he played many more sports, especially Basketball “Go Red Devils." Later in life, he became a father to his two children, daughter Michelle Gott and son Paul Gott Jr. Paul worked many different jobs and with later careers at Wells Fargo, Chevron and Contra Costa Housing Authority. He met his Wife Beverly at Wells Fargo in 2000. They were together for 2 years before he asked her to marry him. Paul and Beverly were happily married for 18 years. Paul became a Papa in 2008 to his first granddaughter Madison and in 2012 to another granddaughter Isabella, 2015 came his twin granddaughters Athena and Annalise and right after, Paul finally got his first grandson James. Paul was such a wonderful Papa. All his grandchildren adored him.
Paul loved his San Francisco 49ers. He would never let you forget who was number one in his eyes. He bled Red and Gold. Paul loved all sports and he really enjoyed playing golf. He loved spending times with his friends out on the green. Paul was an exceptional person. He always made you feel welcomed and he just had one of those personalities you’d never forget. He was one of those cool people, sharply dressed, great attitude and always left an impression that would stay with you forever. Sadly, Paul was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. That didn’t stop him though as he fought until the very end. He was surrounded by his loved ones and friends the entire time. He passed peacefully in his home on Thursday June 25, 2020 at 6:25am. He will forever be missed and will stay in our hearts and by our sides.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2020 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel.
