October 21, 1934 - April 24, 2019
Mr. David Floyd Elliott, age 84, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at his East Brewton residence.
Mr. Elliott proudly served his country for 24 years in the US Navy and then later retired from UPS with 18 years of service. Afterwards, he and his wife moved to her home town of East Brewton where they have resided for 23 years.
He loved his family and his country. A true Renaissance man, he pursued many interests and was never shy about sharing his knowledge with others. His children were blessed to witness the adoration, love and respect their parents shared during the 64 years of marriage they enjoyed. He will be missed deeply but we will always remember the love, strong values and sense of humor he instilled in us.
Mr. Elliott was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Davis Elliott and Florence Bower Elliott; and a son, David Paul Elliott.
He is survived by his wife, Wilellen Weaver Elliott; two sons, Thomas (Danila) Elliott, and Robert Bruce (Betty) Elliott; one daughter, Lynne (Mark) Haller; a brother, Robert B. Elliott; a sister, Elizabeth Ann Brightbill; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 11 A.M. from the chapel of Craver's Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Baughman officiating. Interment, with military honors, will be held at Fort Crawford Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Craver's Funeral Home on Friday from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M.
