Michael T. Williams, 64, of Catasauqua, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 22, 2018 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg surrounded by his loving family. Michael and his wife, Susan (Jandres) Williams, celebrated 28 years of marriage on November 3rd. Born February 18, 1954 in Pottsville, he was the son of the late Edward Williams and Claire (Tobias) Williams of Pine Grove, PA.
Michael was a science teacher for the Wilson Borough School District, where he taught in the middle school for 35 years. During his time at the middle school, Michael was the head of the science club and was always passionate about his teaching. He was awarded with Who's Who among outstanding teachers, consecutive years in a row. Michael also coached football for Wilson Area High School.
He was a 1972 graduate of Pine Grove High School and a 1976 graduate of Bloomsburg University. Michael was a scholar athlete in football during his time at Pine Grove High School. He was the vice president of his fraternity, Lambda Chi Alpha, at Bloomsburg University and starting in 2016, Michael became a mentor for new candidates pledging for the fraternity as well. Michael obtained his master’s degree in education from East Stroudsburg University.
He worked for the pit crew for NASCAR at Pocono Speedway, which was a love of his. He was also a die-hard Eagles fan. Michael was a member of Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Catasauqua.
Survivors: his wife and mother; daughter, Brittany Williams; son, Nicholas Williams.
Services: A memorial service will be Saturday, December 1st at 11:00 a.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. Family and friends may gather Saturday 9 – 11:00 a.m. The Reverend Dr. John Krivak will officiate.
