Marguerite M. “Peg” (Flynn) Scheipers, 97, died on June 17, 2019.
Born in Lawrence, MA. She resided in Bedford for the last 67 years.
Peg was a graduate of St. Patrick High School in Lawrence. After World War II ended, she met Edward B. Scheipers, Jr. at Treat Hardware Store in Lawrence. They were married two years later one June 20, 1948. She was employed as a secretary for the president of Norwich University in Vermont for two years while Ed was attending Norwich as a student.
After her children were in school, she returned to the work force and worked with an optometrist in Burlington for 10 years.
She was a member of St. Michael’s Church where she served as an Extraordinary Minister. She was also a volunteer and member of the Emerson Hospital Auxiliary, Red Cross, Meals on Wheels and Bedford Library.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward B. Scheipers, daughter-in-law, Valerie Livingstone and sister, Betty Larkin. She leaves two sons, Paul and his wife Anita of Lunenburg, MA and Edward of Stratham, NH, five grandchildren, Andrew, Jennifer and husband Neil Schelly, Matthew Livingstone, Gregory and his wife Cathryn and Evan and six great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Michael Church, 90 Concord Rd., Bedford, on Monday, June 24, at 9:00 AM.
Burial at Shawsheen Cemetery.
