WELCH, Mrs. Margaret-age 69, formerly of Flint, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2019 in Denver, Colorado. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Saturday June 15, 2019 with an 1:30pm family hour at Sheldon T. Banks Funeral Chapel, 3021 S. Dort Hwy., Flint, MI 48507. Pastor Kenneth Stewart officiating. Calling hours are 1:00pm-7:00pm Friday, June 14, 2019 at Sheldon T. Banks Funeral Chapel. The final resting place for Mrs. Welch will be Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint, MI.
Mrs. Margaret Welch was born October 31, 1949 in Jonesboro, Arkansas, the daughter of William Wise and Ollie Mae Ricks.
Mrs. Welch was a resident of Michigan for several years and relocated to Denver, Colorado five years ago. She was educated in the Arkansas school system and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Jonesboro. Mrs. Welch was employed at GCARC as an adult work activity coordinator and retired after 22 plus years of service. She also was employed with Patrick Living Facilities for 13 years.
Mrs. Margaret loved to dance, read and she enjoyed fishing. She also liked finding rummage sales while hanging out with her two sisters Jeanette and Joanna. She loved spending time with her family which included exploring the mountains in Colorado. She will be truly missed by her family and friends.
Mrs. Margaret Welch leaves to cherish her memory: 3 children, Alan (Kim) Marshall, Anita Marshall and Raphael Welch; 8 grandchildren, Thomas Barlow, Katarian Taylor, Marcus Nettles, Krystle Marshall, Rico Nettles, Raphael Welch Jr., Israel Welch and Variah Welch; a host of great-grandchildren; father, Joe Ricks; 2 brothers, Robert Joe Ricks and Nathan Paxton; sisters, Jeanette Edwards, Terrilynn Paxton, Joanna Wise, Vanessa Paxton and Sabrena Paxton; nephews, Sharod Sr., Calvin Jr., and Dallies Edwards and Jennara Wise; a host of uncles and aunts; several cousins including Pamela and Donald Perry; other relatives and a host of friends.
Mrs. Margaret Welch was preceded in death by: mother, Ollie Mae Ricks; brothers, Albert “Skin” Tate, Gary Paxton and Kim Paxton Ricks; and daughter-in-law, Veronica Welch.
