Lynne Foster Vinson, 67, went home to be with the Lord early Monday morning, March 2, 2020.
She was a native of Jacksonville and daughter of Verne and Liz Foster. She grew up in the Oceanway area and graduated from Andrew Jackson High School. For many years, she was a member at First Baptist Church of Oceanway, serving with the youth and singles. For more than 20 years, she has been a member at North Jacksonville Baptist Church, serving in the children’s ministries, until her health declined. On December 31, 2012, she retired from the FBI with more than 26 years service. Lynne’s family has faithfully cared for her and they were the love of her life, especially her husband, Jack.
Her mother preceded her in death and surviving family include her husband of 48 years, Jack Vinson; 2 daughters: Michelle Vinson (Fred Bradshaw) and Sondra Vinson Wilson (Scott) and her grandson, Andrew Wilson; father: Verne Foster (Betty); 1 brother: Gary Foster (Susan) and their children: Kevin, Geoffrey and Corey; mother-in-law: Inez Vinson; 5 sisters-in-law: Liz Roydhouse, Vivian Petzhold (George), Vera Vinson (Rick Tullis), Brenda Owens (Billy) and Carol Reagor (Chuck) and a number of extended family and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 6, 2020 at North Jacksonville Baptist Church, 8531 N. Main Street with Dr. Herb Reavis, Jr. and Rev. Chris A. Coram, officiating. Interment will follow at 12:30 PM at Jacksonville National Cemetery with Rev. Bill Tyler, officiating.
Her family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Peeples Event Center, 14165 N. Main Street.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to NJBC Children’s Ministry or Diabetes Association.
