Rev. Glenn Pridgen, 88, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 30, 2020.
He was born in Geneva, Alabama on November 22, 1931 and son of the late Louie & Kate Dunn Pridgen. At an early age, his family moved to Winter Haven, Florida and he was a 1951 graduate of Winter Haven High School. On May 9, 1952, he married the love of his life, Alvisell Bass Pridgen. Bro. Glenn attended Lee college in 1953 to 1954 and he was a bi-vocational carpenter and Pastor.
He has served at Dowling Park in Live Oak, Jacksonville Heights Church of God, Jasper Florida, 54th Street in Tampa and West Jacksonville. His current membership is with Maranatha Temple Church of God in Ruskin, Florida.
Preceding him in death are his parents and sister, Nell Dunlap.
Surviving family include his wife of 68 years, Alvisell Prigden; 4 daughters: Coni (Anthony) Sumner, Kandi (Gary) Lee, Cyndee (Nathan) Byerly and Kym Tyre; 5 grandchildren: Tiffany (Joel) Rozear, Matthew (Jennifer) Sumner, Kaetlen Tyre, Ethan Byerly and Emily Byerly; 2 great grandchildren: Landen & Logan Sumner; 2 brothers: Wayne (Joyce) Pridgen and Ronnie (Virginia) Pridgen and a host of church family.
A celebration of life service will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, October 5, 2020 at Marietta Church of God, 8076 Ramona Blvd. with Bishop Don Tanner, Bishop Bill Wooten and Bishop Stephen Thomas, officiating.
His family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday at the church. Graveside funeral service and burial will be private.
