Larry Frank Eckman, a life-long resident of Paris, Missouri passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the age of 69 while at his home.
Larry was born in Paris, Missouri on February 10, 1949 to the late Frank and Anna Crystal Eckman. He graduated from Paris High School in 1967. After graduating he went to work bulldozing for family members Keith Eckman and then Bill Eckman. After many years of dozing, Larry had the opportunity to join The Monroe County Road and Bridge of Paris in March 1985. After working twenty five and a half years driving the motor grader for the County, he retired in 2011.
Larry was a devoted son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, who was a quiet, gentle soul, that will be missed by many.
He enjoyed attending community events and activities, spending time with his friends and family, and he was a daily regular at Jonesy’s, Miller’s Bar and Grill, The Paris Senior Center, and Frost Bites.. He was also a dedicated member of the Paris Lions Club.
Larry is survived by one brother, Danny (Linda) Eckman of Paris, MO; many nieces and nephews, Donnie (Judi) Eckman of IA, Chris (Lisa) Eckman of Monroe City, MO; Stephanie (Kevin) Vaughn of Monroe City, MO; Scott Eckman of Paris, MO; Gina (Bill) Raines of Paris, MO; Stan (Cheri) Eckman of Moberly, MO; Angie (Mark) Maseman of Hallsville, MO; Aaron (Brandy) Eckman of Paris, MO; Andy Eckman of Paris, MO; 18 great nieces and nephews and 5 great, great nieces and nephews, as well as by many, many cousins that were special to him.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Dick Eckman and Bill Eckman.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the Agnew Funeral Home in Paris. Visitation will be from 2:00 until time of service on Saturday, with Reverend Donna Scott officiating.
Memorial donations may be given to the Paris Lions Club or the Paris Senior Center.
