John Glanz, age 79, a resident of Wheaton, IL, passed away May 18, 2020, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 3, 1940 in Chicago, IL and moved to Wheaton in 1971. Coaching youth sports and attending his children’s many sports & activities over the years made him a friendly fixture in the community. “Mr. Glanz” always had a smile on his face and a genuine compliment for every person he met. His grandchildren adored Grandpa/Papa and knew they would always get showered with love, hugs, and kisses no matter what.
He is survived by Carol (Gulli); his children Julie (Aaron Fuller), Chris, Jill, and Jodie (David Hough); his grandchildren Emily, Elena & Elyse Quesada Glanz, Caden & Colin Glanz, and Paige & Charlie Hough; sister Lenore Glanz and sister-in-law Susan Glanz.
He was preceded in death by his parents Leon & Mary Glanz, sister Dorothy "Dotty" Anderson, brother Edward "Eddie” Glanz, and sister Joan “Joanie” (Tom) Polishak. He’s the affectionate “Uncle Jack” to his many nieces & nephews, and affable cousin to many in Michigan. His selflessness, integrity, and commitment to family lives on in the hearts of all who knew and love him.
A memorial service to celebrate John's life will be held at a later date. Please check back for further announcements and service details.
