Joanne Potter, 87, of Paris, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at Monroe Manor Nursing Home.
She was born on July 19, 1932 in Mexico, MO, the daughter of Samuel P. and Mary E. Duckworth Oliver. She married Ray Potter on December 14, 1951 in Mexico, MO and he preceded her in death on August 11, 2011. Joanne is survived by two daughters, Toni (Tim) Lawrence of Thompson and Melinda (Ronnie) James of Paris; 6 grandchildren, Aaron Ensor, Ryan and Kyle James, Daniel Potter, Sarah Sly and Angel Tavarez; sixteen great-grandchildren, Daniel Ray Potter, Jr., Christian Potter, Page Potter, Bryan Potter, Emma Potter, Chloe Garnett, Kaylie Ensor, Kentlie Ensor, Kyndall Ensor, Alyssa Tavarez, Cooper Bounds, Rhett Pease, Jett James, Natalie James, Luke James and Kolten James; one brother-in-law, Dick (Dee) Potter; one brother, Sam (Lillie) Oliver and one sister, Vicki (Don) Mason. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Kim Rae Abell.
Joanne retired from Southwestern Bell in 1984, and continued to work part-time for the Monroe County Collectors office for several years. Her hobbies included genealogy, playing bridge and pitch, miniatures, and her art work.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at Agnew Funeral Home with Reverend Aimee Higgins officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of service on Sunday. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Granville Christian Church or Lockridge Cemetery, Mexico, MO.
