Sharle Jeane Lechliter, 87 passed away September 23, 2020 surrounded by her family at Monroe Manor in Paris.
Born on September 3, 1933, Sam, as she was called by family and close friends, was the daughter of the late Anna Jean Dull Davis and Russell Walter Davis. She was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Joy.
A graduate of Paris High School in 1953, she married James Robert (Bob) Lechliter two years later on November 4 at the Presbyterian Church in Paris. She was wife and home-health caretaker of Bob until his death on April 12, 2011.
Her family expanded to include Joy Jean (Steve) Ridgeway and Gay Lynn (Joe) Walch. Grandchildren now include Curtis (Megan) Ridgeway and their children, Gus and Vivian; Nicky Ridgeway and her daughter, Claire Jearls; Jay Mikel and sons Jaycob and Jack; Jamie Mikel and her children, Alexia McReaken and Londyn Mikel.
Most of her working years were spent in the Monroe County Courthouse in the Circuit Clerk's office. She loved her job and considered all the "courthouse gang" to be a part of her extended family.
As a life-long member of the Paris Presbyterian Church, she began playing the piano as a teenager and later played the organ for many years before she was unable to attend. Her voice was a joyful addition to the choir.
She loved to dance! Whether she was in her kitchen doing silly steps or dancing with the nurses at the Manor, she loved to dance!
Her homemade popcorn balls were a favorite of all the Halloween trick-or-treaters. Her recipes for wild game meat were delicious.
The beauty of the sky...clear blue or filled with clouds or colorful sunsets, always caught her attention and she would remark, "Oh how beautiful"! Up until just hours before her passing, she marveled at the beauty of nature.
Services were held in the Paris Presbyterian Church that she loved so much on September 28 and she was laid to rest beside her husband, Bob at Southfork Presbyterian Church Cemetery in rural Monroe County.

The family requests if attending the services that you please wear face masks and practice social distancing.
