Chetopa, Kansas: Howard Lee Riddle, age 84, passed away at 5:55 am, Thursday, November 29, 2018 at his home following an illness.
Mr Riddle was born March 10, 1934 in Cherokee County KS. His parents were Ernest Paul and Jimmie Grace (Moore) Riddle. He had lived in the area most of his life.
He was a farmer. He was also a heavy equipment operated, last working for the Labette County Highway Dept. He retired in 2000.
Howard was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the US Navy. He was a member of the VFW, Oswego, KS. His pastimes included fishing, hunting, and all his family activities.
He was married to Delores Cochran on March 1, 1968 in Nowata, OK. She survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Howard Dean Riddle (Tracy), Chetopa, and Ernest “Pete” Riddle, Chetopa; 4 daughters, Kathy Taylor (Donny), Chetopa, Lille Shoate (Paul), Wichita, KS, Ruella Nading (Brock), Melrose, KS, and Linda Dilliner (John), Waggoner, OK; one brother, Frances Milo Riddle (Pat), Wichita; 13 grandchildren, Joe Conrad, Heston Riddle, Logan Riddle, Ivan Taylor, Kandi Taylor, David Shoate, Amber Shoate, Megan Blick, Tami Willis, Donivan Betts, Jessie Riddle, April Riddle, and Justice Riddle; and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, David Eugene Riddle, one sister, Joyce Land, and his parents.
He was entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home, Oswego, KS for cremation.
A military graveside memorial service will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Chetopa, KS. Rodney Riddle will officiate.
