George Duard Osbourne, Jr., 89, beloved husband, father, father in law, granddaddy and friend to many, went home to be with The Lord on Friday, August 28, 2020.
George was born on March 6, 1931 in Fort Benning, Georgia, son of the late George D. Osbourne, Sr. & Tollie B. West Osbourne. He graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1949. George worked at St. Regis Paper Mill and was a custom home building contractor in Jacksonville. George and John Michael Bazzell would visit at least 6 nursing homes every week and minister to the residents. George loved to sing. Today, he is singing with the angels at the feet of Jesus. George was an avid Gator fan and he loved his parrot “BoBo”, especially when “BoBo” would say “Go Gators”. He was an artist and loved to paint beach scenes from the Amelia By The Sea Condos, where he was the manager for many years.
Surviving family include his loving wife of 70 years, Norma J. Osbourne of Fernandina Beach, FL and their two daughters: Jackie Maderski (Walter) of Fernandina Beach, FL and Darlynn Edwards (David) of Jacksonville, FL. He leaves 5 precious grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren.
George loved The Lord and preached his word often. He witnessed to everyone he met about The Gospel of The Lord Jesus Christ.
A private family memorial service will take place at a later date.
