Francis (Butch) Hoeckelmann, 76, of St. Paul, MO passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at his home.


Butch was born in St. Paul, MO on April 20, 1943 the son of Carl and Christina Weber Hoeckelmann. He married Evelyn Koester on April 18, 1964 in St. Paul and she survives at home. Other survivors include his children; John (Buck) Hoeckelmann, Tammy (Allen) Stecklein, David (Tammy) Hoeckelmann, Roger (Gina) Hoeckelmann and Ed (Deb) Hoeckelmann; his grandchildren; Logan and Loren Hoeckelmann, Anna, Jack and Clem Hoeckelmann, Miranda, Blaine and Chase Hoeckelmann, Carson Hoeckelmann and Matt (Alissa) Stecklein; his great-grandchild; Cael Stecklein; three brothers; Paul Hoeckelmann, Joe Hoeckelmann and Fred Hoeckelmann and three sisters; Rose Ann Feise, Mary Wehde and Martha Emge. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bernard Hoeckelmann.


Butch and his wife, Evelyn, farmed their entire life in the St. Paul community. He loved his grandchildren, enjoyed traveling, playing horseshoes, fishing, hunting, and going to Dog Prairie.


He belonged to St. Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul, MO; Knights of Columbus 6415 in St. Paul, MO and Loyal Order of the Moose 1513 in St. Charles, MO.


In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: SSM Hospice, St. Paul Church, Juvenile Diabetes or VHL Alliance.


There will be a funeral procession from Butch and Evelyn Hoeckelmann’s house, leaving at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 1, 2020, 1466 Church Road, St. Paul, MO to the St. Paul Catholic Church at 1235 Church Road, St. Paul, MO. At which time respects may be observed from your vehicle, along the route and parking lots. There will be a private graveside service at 11:00 a.m. for the immediate family only at St. Paul Cemetery.


A memorial service will be held at a later date at St. Paul Catholic Church.
