Elizabeth's Obituary

Elizabeth Page Cunningham was born on March 31, 1945 in Fort Worth, TX and passed peacefully on September 20, 2018, after a courageous 5-year battle with Breast Cancer. Elizabeth grew up in Midland, Texas graduated from Lee High School in 1962 and attended Texas Tech University where she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. While attending Texas Tech she married her husband Kenneth George Cunningham whom she met her senior year in High School. She married Ken in 1964 in Midland, TX and they recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary. Upon Ken’s graduation, they moved to Pampa, TX where they began their family. In 1968 Ken accepted a transfer with IBM to Shreveport, Louisiana where they have resided for the last 50 years. Elizabeth taught Sunday school at Broadmoor Presbyterian Church, served as President of the PTA at both University Elementary and Captain Shreve High School, was a Den Mother for her 2 sons, an active board member for the Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet and was an active member serving different board positions for the Town South Seahorse Swim Team. As her children grew older, she started her career in education and held the position of Registrar at Loyola College Prep for 21 years and retired in 2012.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents Louis and Louise Holder, Jr and her brother-in-law, Kenneth Payne. She is survived by her husband, Ken, son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Rosemary Cunningham of Sugar Land, TX, son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Juliet Cunningham of Denver, CO and daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Steven Shillcutt of Woodstock, GA. She is also survived by her brother, David Holder and his wife Blanch and her sister, Deborah Payne. Surviving in her loving memory are her 6 Grandchildren, Emily Cunningham, Kenneth Cunningham, Ryan Shillcutt, Payton Shillcutt, Zachary Cunningham, and Nathan Shillcutt. Elizabeth also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends that she cherished dearly.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at Broadmoor United Methodist Church, Saturday October 6th at 11:00 AM and will be officiated by Dr. Greg Davis. The family will welcome visitors in the church parlor starting at 10:00 AM. Her family would like to thank Dr. Robert Nicholson, Dr Robert Hernandez, Willis Knighton Hospice Care and their staffs for the loving care they provided during her journey. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her memory to the Broadmoor United Methodist Church Faithful Campaign or the American Cancer Society.
