Doris R. Jackson passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2020.  She was born on March 30, 1948, as one of four children, to John D. Reed and Maggie Lee Reed.  Though not rich materially, she grew up rich in love and was instilled with a deep respect for the Bible.

Endeavors eventually brought Doris to Connecticut where she worked as an insurance adjuster for 28 years.  During that time, Doris was introduced to the hope found in the Bible.  She diligently studied the scriptures, dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized on June 18, 1994.

Complementing her reputation as a cheery person Doris had a fondness for sunflowers.  She often surrounded herself with people, whether it was friends or family and was a very giving person.  As a result, she had friends around the country and the enduring love of family.  She appreciated listening to and watching JW Broadcast music and content. She also enjoyed cooking and sampling a variety of foods.

Although Doris endured health problems for many years, her focus was not on herself but on helping others through encouraging cards and words.  She was always ready to share Bible truths regardless of the situation or location.  Her favorite way to share the truth was by giving JW contact cards to people she met, be it at a coffee shop, grocery store or with hospital staff.  Doris was especially comforted by her unshakable trust in the promise by Jesus of a resurrection to life on a paradise earth (John 5:28,29).

Her mother, brother and her husband George A. Jackson, Sr. preceded her in death.

Doris is survived by her son George A. Jackson, Jr., three granddaughters Natalya, Julissa and Chloe, two sisters Robbie Bulls and Jackie Grant, three nephews Malcom, John and Joel, three nieces Jenetta, Daneal and Nichelle.
