September 24, 1956 - April 28, 2018
David John Sheridan, age 61, of Pepin Wisconsin was born on September 24, 1956 in Superior Wisconsin to Robert and Ann Sheridan. The family moved to Apple Valley, MN when David was 12 yrs old. He then graduated from Rosemont H.S. in 1974. David met his life-long love, Karen Kaiser, the first day of college at Winona State in 1975 in their freshman orientation class. The rest was history. David went on to graduate from the U of M with a degree in Political Science. Early in his career, David worked at various advertising agencies and at MLT Vacations as a copywriter. He was an entrepreneur at heart, owning his own writing/sales&marketing/coaching consulting business for the past 20+ years. David’s passion for sailing was the catalyst for launching his Sail Pepin business in 1997 in Pepin, WI. Offering sailboat rides, sailing instructions, youth & camp programs and team building programs, David built an extensive community focused around Lake Pepin in western Wisconsin. Other business ventures, like the Breakwater Wine Bar in Pepin, always kept David close to the water and provided opportunities for he and his guests to enjoy the beauty of the area. David also loved and provided for others a chance to listen to good music, eat good food, and enjoy good drink. David and Karen spent their time appreciating the simple things in life and split their time between their house in St. Paul and home in Pepin. David will be remembered most for his big heart, his generosity of spirit and his positive outlook on life. His absence leaves a gaping hole in the lives of so many and especially in the community of Pepin. Fair winds and furthering seas. Godspeed.
David is preceded in death by his mother, Ann; sister, Julie Passer; and brother, Tim Sheridan. He is survived by his life partner, Karen Kaiser; father, Robert; siblings, Susan (John) Haley, Michael (Elyse), Pat (Trisha) and Kevin (Kathy) Sheridan; brother-in-law, Brad Passer; many nieces, nephews, extended family and countless friends both near and far.
