WILLIAMS, Mr. Cornelious -age 86, of Mt. Morris, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at McLaren-Flint. Funeral services will be held 12:00pm Tuesday, June 18, 2019 with an 11:30am family hour at Sheldon T. Banks Funeral Chapel, 3021 S. Dort Hwy., Flint, MI 48507. Pastor Rickey Tasley officiating. Calling hours are 1:00pm-6:00pm Monday, June 17, 2019 at Sheldon T. Banks Funeral Chapel. The final resting place for Mr. Williams will be Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI.
Mr. Cornelious “Neil” Williams was born May 4, 1933 in Tarry, Arkansas, to the parents of I.C. (Isaiah Clifton) and Maggie L. Williams (Boyd).
Neil accepted Christ at an early age at Shady Grove AME in Tarry, Arkansas. He later re-dedicated his life in the early 90's to his Lord and Savior. He was Honorably Discharged from the United States Air Force. Neil began his employment with General Motors in 1956, retiring in 1991. Neil was an avid bowler, fisherman, gardener, and loved playing pool. His passion to provide for his family and friends was a priority. He also was a member of the "once" Helping Hands CB Club where he held several offices and was affectionately known by his handle "Coon Man". He was treasurer of AA where he enjoyed barbecuing and serving for that organization. These are just a few of the things that defined him as a compassionate and loving person to both family and friends. A special mention to his loving and devoted son Pastor Rickey Tasley, over the last several years he was his caretaker and helper in many ways, always caring for and providing for his "Pops".
Neil leaves to cherish his memory; 2 sons, Pastor Rickey (Pam) Tasley of Saginaw, MI and Evan Williams of St. Louis, MO; 1 daughter, Lisa Kelly of Lansing, MI; 1 brother, Scipio Williams Sr. of Mt. Morris, MI; special friend and companion, Barbara Raine; 16 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his loving and devoted daughter Regina A. Kelly; parents, I.C. and Maggie Williams; 6 sisters, Effie Boyce, Henrietta Walker, Ozella Fletcher, Elnora Mines, Lille and Lula Williams; 5 brothers, Johnnie, Benjamin, Hezekiah, David and Arlandist Williams.
