October 14, 1943 - January 25, 2020
Claudia Hall Alexander, 76, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 25, 2020.
She was a native of Jacksonville and a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School – Class of 1961. She met the love of her life, Robert Ferrell “Big Al” Alexander, Sr. and they wed on September 10, 1963 in Hawaii, while he was stationed there in the USMC. Big Al became a commercial fisherman and they co-owned Ferrell’s Seafood on Main Street. Claudia loved to garden and cook (boy, she knew how to cook). She would ask all the questions that needed to be asked and sometimes answer them herself. We nicknamed her “Drill Instructor”. She taught her family to love the Lord and to tithe.
She is preceded in death by her husband, “Big Al” and 2 daughters, Cindy and Suzanne. Surviving family include her son: Goober (Gail) Alexander; 5 grandchildren: Amanda (Nick) Thornton, Benjamin Alexander, Cody (Miranda) Alexander, Nick Roderick and Carli Roderick; 2 great grandchildren: Lincoln Thornton and Averie Alexander; 3 sisters: Sheryl (Jim) Tuttle, Mary Jo (Mike) Castleberry and Kiwi (Andy) Anderson and a host of extended family and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at North Jacksonville Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Rigdon, officiating.
Her family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church.
Interment will follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery at a later day.
Peeples Family Funeral Homes is serving the Alexander Family.
