Columbus, KS: Caroline Raye Clark, age 65 of Columbus, passed away at her home on the morning of December 10, 2018.

Caroline was born in Columbus on August 12, 1953 to the union of Raymond Roscoe Rowton and Martha Carolyn (King) Rowton. She had lived in the Columbus area for most of her life where she owned and operated 4th Avenue Daycare. Her biggest passion was caring for children, and she was able to care for several generations of kids in Columbus. She also enjoyed making porcelain dolls and baking professional quality cakes.

She was united in marriage with John Edward Clark on September 15, 1972 in Miami, OK. He survives.

Additional survivors include one son, Dustin Clark (wife, Shawndra) of Roseland, KS, and their daughter, Siarra Clark; four daughters, Deanna Marshall of Columbus, and her children, Katalyn Napier, Maverick Marshall, Bethanna Marshall, and Sarah Marshall; Shaunda Clark of Columbus, and her children, Keliah Cooper and Kelsi Moss; Lori Sullivan (husband, Jerry) of Oronogo, MO, and her children Brandi Murray, J.C. Sullivan, and Casey Sullivan; and Carol Clark of Ocala, FL, and her children, Shayla Valdivieso and Nakia Wilcher; two sisters, Rosa Schmidt (husband, Ed) of Oswego, KS, and Faye Rowton of Columbus, as well as 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Martha Rowton.

A graveside service will be held at Messer Cemetery at 2:30 PM on Friday, December 14, 2018. Visitation will take place on Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 6-7:00 PM at Derfelt Funeral Home of Columbus. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and may be mailed to 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
