Ms. Benita Monet Becton

Benita Monet Mims was born in Kansas City, Missouri to Brenda Hyche and Robert Mims August 14, 1975. Her parents moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma sometime afterwards. Benita was raised up in the church; she was a optimistic, strong, intelligent, and nurturing to her younger siblings. She blossomed into a beautiful young woman graduating from Muskogee High School, Class of 1993. While still in Muskogee she had her first born daughter Jasmine. Shortly after her daughters' birth she moved and began a life in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Some years latter she had her second daughter Erica her chocolate drop. After a few years she met and married Theron Becton and to this marriage they had a beautiful baby girl Symone. Her children were the pride and joy of her life.
Benita's 15 year commitment to the City of Tulsa Water Department was one of many great accomplishments. She started as a dispatcher and worked her way through the company. During her time at the city, she enrolled in University of Phoenix and graduated with her Bachelors in Business. Benita eventually worked her way up to Supervisor within the company.
Preceding Benita in death is her father Robert Mims, grandfather Elbert Hyche, and cousin Raymond Gray. Those left to cherish her precious memories: her eldest child Jasmine Renee, middle child Erica Lanae, and her youngest child Symone Janae. Her mother Brenda, papa Leroy Sr., Mrs. T., her brothers Leroy Jr., Jason, Jeremiah, Josh, Jairus, David, her sisters Kenya, Tina, Shalonda (Joe), Rebekah. Neices and nephews, Jasmine, Arlandis, Alexis, Camille, Joe Jr., Makaila, Isaiah, Harper, Madison, and Zayne. As well as host of aunts, uncles, cousins, co-workers, friends, and beloved partner Delvon.
You may visit Ms. Becton, as she slumbers in peaceful repose at the funeral home in Tulsa on Friday, June 5, 2020 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
The Family has asked that everyone please wear a mask prior to entering our facility, as well as continuing to practice social distancing while attending the visitation.
