86 years old, has gone to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 21, 2020. He was born on August 3, 1933 in Derdeghaya, Lebanon. Adel came with his wife, Nadia to the United States from Lebanon in 1960 and they have resided in the Grand Ledge area since. Adel was an insurance salesman for many years in the Lansing area, worked for General Motors, and right before retirement owned and operated the Middle East Cafe. Adel had a great sense of humor, a hardworking spirit, strong faith, and the deepest love for his family. Adel was preceded in death by his parents, Nehme and Farida (Watfa) Badawi, his grandson, Ryan Badawi, two brothers, Hanna and Neeman Badawi, and many loved relatives.
Adel will be deeply missed by his wife, Nadia; his children Lisa (Kyle) Burkett, George (Jackie) Badawi, Rick Badawi, and Yvonne (Ted Keaton) Badawi; nine grandchildren, Allyson (Tucker Kowalski) Burkett, Stephen Burkett, David (Rebecca) Burkett, Scott (Angie) Burkett, Taylor Gourdine, Sean Burkett, Devin Badawi, Caleb Keaton, and Danica Badawi, 7 great-grandchildren; one brother, Michel Badawi; four sisters, Yvonne Rahme, Simone Ayoub, Naemi Badawi, and Viva Majdalani, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews in both Michigan and Lebanon. A Celebration of Adel's life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 3:00 PM, outdoors with social distancing and masks, at 881 Grovenburg Rd, Holt, Mi 48842 Burchfield Park (Southridge Picnic Shelter).
