Alexandre's Obituary

Alexandre Moraes Da Silva Jr., an avid gamer, passed unexpectedly on September 8, 2020, at the age of 22 at his home in Stonington, CT.

Alex is survived by his mother Rusenete Coon; his step-father James Coon; his sisters Ana Julia, Alana, Abigail, and Ariel; his step-brother and step-sisters, Christina, James Jr, Jessica, and Brianna; the Behr family; Michelle, Michael, Nathan, Casey and Elizabeth who were his second family; as well many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and cousins; his grandparents Rui Costa Vale and Ivonete Batista Vale. He is predeceased by his grandparents Herb and Dot Coon. 

Alex was born in Brazil on September 9, 1997. He graduated from Grasso Technical High school in 2016, where he studied drafting. He was part of the Fitch High School Marching Band, where he played the drums and performed with the 7th Regiment, where he played the cymbals. Alex worked at West Marine in Mystic and Smoothie King in Waterford, where he was loved.

Alex, who went by Waffles in the gaming world, would play into the night with his friends. Building long-lasting friendships with players from all over; he planned to go to Virginia to meet with some of them.

A  Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday September 26, 2020 at International Family Worship Center, 327 Huntington Street,  New London, CT 06320 (limited seating due to COVID)  with a Celebration of his Life will follow at Colonel Ledyard Park 21 Blonder’s Boulevard, Ledyard, CT 06339.
