Adolph John Hartl, “Duffy”, age 64 of Apple Valley, Minnesota went home to Jesus after an accidental fall. Preceded in death by his parents, Adolph Hartl and Angeline LaCroix Harrison and his sister, Yvonne Pegg. Survived by his loving wife, Elaine; children: Clarissa (Greg) Rice, Cassius (Christa) Hartl, and Joy Hartl; beloved grandchildren: Norah and Everett; siblings: Barb (Neal) Rambeck, Patricia (Norman) Ravnaas, Judith Hartl, and Joan Hartl; also by his nieces and nephews and multitudes of other family and friends.
Duffy was born in Harvey, North Dakota and grew up in Fessenden, North Dakota helping his dad with Mobil gas deliveries. He went to school for heating and air conditioning at North Dakota State School of Science, but transitioned to working in insurance, which he went on to do for the rest of his career. He and Elaine met in college through his sister, Pat. After getting married, Duffy and Elaine moved to the Twin Cities. Anyone who knew Duffy witnessed his generous, selfless, servant’s heart.
After working for Combined Insurance for 36 years, he retired but kept busy working at Kwik Trip and Home Instead, helping those around him, and tinkering with countless projects.
He treasured his wife, loved his children and adored his grandchildren.
