Barbara's Obituary

Mother Barbara Ann (Valentine) Warren, affectionately known as "Grammie"; by many made her Heavenly transition on Monday August 31. She was born in Franklin, VA to the parentage of William and Beatrice Valentine, on July 17, 1935. She was a loving, caring kindhearted person who embraced everyone with lots of hugs, wisdom and free advice.

Mother Warren was an amazing cook, with people always requesting her RICE PUDDING, SWEET POTATO PIE, and CHITTLINS just to name a few. The impact Grammie made on all transcended multiple generations! Grammie was caring and giving; she instructed and corrected always in love. Grammie left an indelible mark on every life that she touched. To know her was to love her! She graduated from Hayden High School in 1952, then later studied at Keys Business College where she earned an Associate Degree.

In 1966 she was hired to work for F. W. Woolworths Company as a Clerk. She was later promoted to management where she was honored to be the stores First African American Supervisor. She retired in 1999 after 33 years. In 1952 she married her lifelong love Andrew Lee Warren of Sedley, VA. Together they had two beloved sons, Deacon Andrew M. Warren and Apostle Karol L. Warren. For over 56 years she was a loving and
devoted wife until her husband was called home to be with the Lord in 2007. She also served as the 1st Lady under the Pastorate of her husband for over 33 years.

She was also preceded in death by sisters, Margret Wynn & Thelma Davis and her parents William and Beatrice Valentine.

Mother Barbara Warren leaves to cherish memories of her with two sons, Deacon Andrew McCoy Warren of Fayetteville, NC, Apostle Karol L. Warren & one daughter-in-love 1st Lady Michelle Warren of Tampa, FL ; eight grandchildren, Tomica Warren- Livingston, of Columbus Ohio, Master Sgt Andre Warren (Monica) Monica of Silver City, New Mexico, Joy Warren of Atlanta, Ga, Shaunte' Warren- Booker (David) of Chesapeake VA, Andrew Jr. , Matthew and Joshua Warren of Virginia Beach, VA, &
Christopher Meadors-Warren of Tampa, FL; eight great grandchildren, Faith, Miles, Sean-Michael, Spencer, Reese, Josaiah, Xavier & Ryan. Two sisters, Shirley Walters & Vineonnie Pickett (Abbey); one brother, William Valentine (Alice) all of Hampton, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers & sisters in love, and spiritual family.

There will be a viewing on Friday September 11, 2020 at Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida from 3:00 – 8:00p.m. Due to the current CDC restrictions, we are asking that you use the visitation as an opportunity to pay your final respect. For your convenience and safety, we have extended our visitation hours. Funeral service to be held at Tampa Event Center, 13507 N. Nebraska Ave. Tampa, FL 33610 on Saturday September 12, 2020 at 12 noon. A memorial will be held in Norfolk, VA at Metropolitan Funeral Home on Tuesday September 15, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. 120 W. Berkley Ave Norfolk, VA 23523. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CashApp $HFLCTPA.
