Floyd Leon Moen, age 78, of Blair, died on Saturday, July 18, 2020 in his home.
Floyd was born on November 28, 1941 in Stillwater, MN to Lester A. and Viola (Quarne) Moen. He was baptized and confirmed in the First Lutheran Church in Blair and attended the Blair public schools.
In 1959, when Floyd turned eighteen, he enlisted in the United States Navy and was stationed in San Diego, CA for four years. After living and working through several cold northern winters, Floyd joined the United States Marine Corps and moved his family to Cherry Point, NC. He served aboard several aircraft carriers working on aviation electronics. Floyd ended his 22 years in the military as an aviation electronics instructor at Millington, TN for the Navy and retired to Blair.
Floyd married Corazon “Cora” Escarlan on December 28, 1998 in Fayetteville, NC. Cora preceded Floyd in death on August 12, 2018.
Floyd is survived by a son, Leon, of Brea, CA; three step-daughters, Stephanie of South Dakota, Janice of Tennessee and Teresa Davis of Alabama; several grandchildren; a brother, Lester V. (Karen) Moen of Altoona; two sisters, Lorie Walker and Julie (Larry) Kleiboer both of Winona, MN and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Floyd was preceded in death by three wives, Jacqueline Reynolds of Torrance, CA, Lana Hensley of Harbor Springs, MI and Corazon Petersen of Blair.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Blair. Mr. Scott Brown will officiate. Military rites will be conducted by the Knudtson-Mattison American Legion Post #231.
