Michael Lee Broome, 68, of Denton, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 1, 2019. He was born September 7, 1951, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, to Lee and Doris (Davis) Broome.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda, daughter, Janet Broome of Virginia Beach, VA., sons; Jason Broome and wife Dominique of Owasso, Oklahoma, Jonathan Broome of Owasso, Oklahoma, David Broome and wife, Belinda of El Paso, Texas, his mother, Doris Broome of Goldsmith, Texas, sister, Gina Caraway and husband Joe of Goldsmith, Texas and seven grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father, Lee Broome, and brother, Richard Broome.
Michael was a 1969 graduate of Parkland High School in El Paso, Texas. Over the years, Michael and Brenda have enjoyed renewing friendships with classmates.
After high school, Michael served four years in the United States Air Force, 1.5 of those years in Okinawa. After the military, Michael tried a few different careers and finally found his niche in the school system. Driving a school bus for Denton ISD and Lake Dallas ISD and later dispatching, retiring after 20 years.
Michael loved photography. He spent many hours taking photos of God’s amazing creations: sunsets, sunrises, flowers, people, and other wonders. God and spending time with family were the two most important things in Michael’s life. He was a member of Singing Oaks Church of Christ, Denton, Texas.
Donations in Michael’s honor can be given to Make a Wish Foundation or St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
Visitation will be at 9:00 AM on November 4, 2019, with funeral services following at 10:00 AM at Singing Oaks Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
