Neil Phillips, age 73 of Tomball, passed away on August 1, 2018. He was born in Auckland, New Zealand and came to the United States with his mother at 18 months old He married the love of life, Vivian, July 3, 2004. Neil was a talented and active musician (bass guitar) for at least 60 years of his life. He served in the U.S. Navy for 16 years receiving multiple commendations in every task he was assigned to. Neil retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 2009 after 14 years as a supervisor.
Neil was an active member of the Christian Motorcyclist Association for 20 years and was very involved in the prison ministry. He was ordained in 2007. In his 73 years, The Lord used him to lead hundreds of souls to salvation in Christ.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Beryl Phillips and Joyce Singh Phillips, and is survived by his wife Vivian Phillips; daughters, Essence Grotton and husband John, Meagan Raven and husband Taylor, and Nikki Phillips; sister, Lorraine Licce and husband Pete; brother, Ralph Phillips and wife Terry; sister, Sheryl Day and husband Will; granddaughter, Juliet Raven; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family would like to ask that a donation be made to CMA Run for the Son and/or Star of Hope in memory of Neil Phillips.
Visitation will be Sunday August 5, 2018 from 4-7pm at Canon Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Monday August 6, 2018 at 11am at Canon Funeral Home with Pastor David Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery
