She was born on June 6, 1926, to the late Harry John and Zella Edna Wettengel in Mutual, Oklahoma. She spent most of her growing-up years in the Kansas City/Richmond, Missouri area. After marriage, she was a stay-at-home mother until she moved to Pasadena, Texas where she worked at A&G Food Center, Wilson Office Supply, and retired from Eckerd’s Drug Store. She relocated to Conroe, TX, where she resided in Camelot Pines, a senior community, for her last 28 years. She attended First Assembly of God and The River Assembly of God in Conroe, TX. She leaves behind her last sibling, Margaret Jo Wettengel Hall of Santa Cruz, California as well as several nieces, nephews, and their families. She is survived by children Marilyn Diane Tharpe Bird (David) of Belton, TX, Linda Tharpe Lusk of Arlington, TX, Deby Tharpe Czagas (Billy) of Burlington, N.C., and Robert Michael Tharpe (May) of Spring, TX.
