Sam had a passion for sports, especially baseball, attending numerous Yankee games, was proud to have seen Babe Ruth play several times, attend the 1956 World Series and witness the perfect game, and to have had personal encounters with many players, umpires, and officials. Sam celebrated his 100th birthday in November with a party at his home. He enjoyed Christmas dinner with his family where he led the family in saying grace and giving thanks to God for his many blessings. He passed away peacefully at his home with his family at his side. Sam wishes to especially thank his daughter Elaine, granddaughter in law Karen, his family, neighbors, and the nurses and healthcare workers from Vitas Healthcare and Visiting Angles for helping him through his time of need.
