MELANCON FUNERAL HOME
This location, originally built in 1947, was the first building to be built as a funeral home in Southwest Louisiana. Prior to that, all funeral homes were houses that had been remodeled into a funeral home. Over the years the Melancon family has periodically updated this facility to the modern facility you see today. Many families choose this facility, continuing their past generations traditions. The funeral home has two parlors, a large coffee room and foyer. The parking lot is concrete and well lighted. The funeral home is located at the corner of North University Ave and Ira St.
