Kostadinos Alexander Karageorge, 22, of Worthington, passed away in Columbus, Ohio. He was born July 10, 1992 in Columbus, son of George James and Susan Karin Sligo Karageorge of Worthington.

Kosta was a member of The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Columbus. He was on the The Ohio State University Football team and was a 3 year Letterman on The Ohio State University Wrestling team. Kosta received the 2013-14 Ohio State University Wrestling Battling Buckeye Award.

In addition to his parents, Kosta is survived by his sister, Sophia Marguerite Karageorge of Athens; grandparents, Sophia Karageorge of Athens and Joseph R. and Marguerite Sligo of Gilbert, Arizona and uncles and aunts, Joseph C. and Karol Sligo of Chandler, Arizona, aunt and godmother, Pipina “Penny” Karageorge of Athens and James Spiro (Fiancée, Corrine Shuster) Karageorge of Athens.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Kostadinos N. “Gus” Karageorge; great grandmother, Pipina Karageorge and close friend, Christian James Hallam.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 3, 2014 in The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 555 N. High St., Columbus, Ohio 43152, with Father Demetrios Gardikes officiating. Private burial will be held in Athens Memory Gardens in Athens County, Ohio. Friends may call on Wednesday, from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Columbus.

Arrangements are by Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, Ohio 43138.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Kostadinos Alexander Karageorge to The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 555 N. High St., Columbus, Ohio 43215.
