Marcella Herrin (Marce), age 97, was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on September 29, 1918. She died in Newberg, Oregon on November 23, 2015.
Marcella married Daniel Herrin on October 12, 1940. Together they raised four children. At the time of Dan’s death in 2013, they were the longest married couple in the state of Wyoming at 73 years. Marcella was an avid reader; sometimes reading as much as 5 hours in a day. Marcella has been living with her daughter, Julie Nollette and husband, LeRoy, in Sherwood, Oregon for the last two years. Previously she lived in Greybull, Wyoming.
Marcella is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel; son, Charles Herrin; daughter, Ellen Herrin; brother, Al Johnson; and sister, Lillian Schultz.
Marcella is survived by her daughter, Julie Nollette (LeRoy) and son, Daniel Herrin (Becky) and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Marcella’s motto: “It’s a great life if you don’t weaken!!”
Rosary was held on Tuesday, December 1st at St. Francis Catholic Church in Sherwood, Oregon followed immediately by the funeral mass and a reception in the parish center next to the church.
A graveside service will be held at the Donald J. Ruhl Memorial Cemetery in Greybull, Wyoming on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Ray Rodriguez as celebrant. Interment will follow the graveside.
