Our History

Alloway Funeral Home, Inc. was founded in 1961 by John W. Alloway of Merchantville, NJ. Originally located at 198 Church Road, the funeral home relocated to its present location in 1967.

In 1980, John N. Alloway joined his father in the family business. In 2002, he purchased the funeral home and also became the manager. John N. Alloway is a licensed funeral director in the States of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. John W. Alloway passed away in 2009.

Alloway Funeral Home,Inc. is located in historic Merchantville, NJ, a suburb of Philadelphia, just outside of Cherry Hill, NJ. The funeral home serves all faiths and cultures and offers many traditional and non-traditional types of funeral services including immediate cremation, immediate burial, and green burials. The firm also offers counseling in regards to veterans benefits, social security, medicaid planning,welfare funerals, and local and long distance funeral arrangements, all without charge or obligation.

Alloway Funeral Home, Inc. offers a complete prearrangement program, should one desire to prepay their funeral arrangements. This is provided through the use of the New Jersey Prepaid Funeral Trust Fund. All monies in the trust fund are 100% refundable with interest included.

We offer spacious facilities, reasonable prices, and each funeral conforms to the wishes of the individuals who are in need of our services.

Alloway Funeral Home, Inc. has been a cooperating funeral home for several years with the Funeral Consumers Alliance of South Jersey, Philadelphia, and Princeton. We have also been involved with Princeton Hospice, Samaritan Hospice, VITAS Hospice, Lighthouse Hospice, Salem County Hospice, and Caring Hospice. Alloway Funeral Home, Inc. has a working relationship with the Consulate of Mexico and is a very respected funeral establishment among the Latino, Filipino, and Chinese communities.
