Regarding Coronavirus / Covid-19, Monday, June 15, 2020
The National Funeral Directors Association held a webinar with its members and representatives of the CDC. Guidelines were recommended for funeral home visitations and funeral services, and we have decided to implement the following practices in our Event Center for at least the next eight weeks.
•In order to practice social distancing of the recommended six feet, we will have limited seating in the auditorium area. It is also being suggested that the public refrain from handshakes, hugs, and kissing as forms of condolences. Direct eye contact, loving words and a warm smile are as meaningful to the family as a traditional handshake or hug.
•A staff member will be at the door during all visitation and services to dispense hand sanitizer to guests and will happily sign the register book for guests to limit contact of writing instruments.
•Guests are welcome to bring their own bottled water into the facility and to take bottles with you when you leave to dispose of them at home. Our guest lounge & Event Room will be closed and no refreshments or snacks will be available until further notice.
• Toys and books have been removed temporarily from the children’s playroom, but the TV and DVD player and chairs remain. You are welcome to bring in devices and movies and use the room with your own items.
• Live-streaming options will be available to the families for the funeral service, if the family requests this service. Otherwise, funeral services in our chapel will be open to accommodate 50% capacity including the family. Gathering in an open area, such as a graveside, are allowing 50 attendees.
• We will stagger public visitations by allowing no more than 75 guests into the facility at a time and will close periodically during calling hours to thoroughly disinfect and sanitize common areas.
• We ask that if you have come in contact with someone that has tested positive for COVID-19 in the two weeks prior to a service, that you not attend visitations or services. We also ask that if you are or have recently been ill that you consider sending condolences to the family online through our website at www.pffh.com or by mail. We will be happy to add your name to the guest register book by calling us at (904) 764-2542 or you may sign the online guest book with each obituary at www.pffh.com.
