SSGT. Richard L. Morgan, 34, passed away August 11, 2019. Loving father of Caden Morgan and Gauge Morgan; Dear son of Linda Morgan and Keith Taylor (Melanie); Brother of William Morgan (Kim), Michael Rivera, Heaven Collins (Ricky), and Angel Collins; Grandson of the following deceased: Arthur and Kathleen Petsche , Jack and Sandy Morgan, William and Lillian Taylor; Nephew of Jim Cowger (Micky), Jack Morgan (Tammy, deceased), and Clint Morgan.
After 11 yrs. of service with the United States Marine Corps., 3 combat tours, and countless acts of patriotism, the words to describe the man Richard Morgan are limited. Honor, Duty, Selfless Service are some of the words that describe his life, proven by the very prestige service record he held. Some of his noted acts of duty include: Multiple Achievement Medals, Multiple Action Ribbons, Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Unit Commendation (3), Marine Corps Good Conduct Medals, National Service Medal, and Afghanistan Campaign Medal (w/ 2 stars). This is a brief outlook on what the true essence of this man was. The amount of words to actually describe the amount of good he brought into the world do not exist, so the memory of Richard L. Morgan should be immediately followed by one word: HERO!
Visitation Saturday, August 24, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Fortuna Funeral Home, 7076 Brecksville Road, Independence, Ohio 44131. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 12:00 noon at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church (3395 E 53rd St, Cleveland, OH 44127). Interment Calvary Cemetery (10000 Miles Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio, 44105).
