Beloved Aunt, dog lover and friend
Westminster-Cynthia E. Hutchins, 67, passed away peacefully Thursday July 26, 2018 in Bay State Medical Center, Springfield, surrounded by her loving family.
Cynthia was born in Fitchburg, on January 31, 1951, the daughter of the late Chester and Ethel (Chamberlain) Hutchins.
Cynthia is survived by two nieces; Jennifer Hutchins Hartwell and Mary Sarah Hutchins Marino; several great nephews and nieces; many dear lifelong friends and her beloved dogs, Shadow and Chester. Cynthia was predeceased by her brother, Bradley Hutchins in 2009.
Cynthia worked as an advertising saleswoman for the Fitchburg Sentinel and for the Worcester Telegram and Gazette. Prior to her retirement, Cynthia worked as a Career Specialist for the Massachusetts Career Centers. She was very successful at work and education which won her many awards. Cynthia raised her niece, Jennifer, from the age of three. She loved Jennifer more than anything else in her life. She also adored her dogs as if they were her children. She was an amazing friend. Cynthia was a dedicated reader with a passion for history, studying ancestry and mysteries. She enjoyed many journeys around the world from Maine to Egypt. She loved the ocean and being on the beach. Cynthia had an eye for photography and writing. She was a talented artist who loved her crafts and most of all knitting. Her indomitable spirit encouraged her family and friends to persist in the face of many struggles. Cynthia’s love will be remembered and missed but not forgotten.
A memorial Mass will be held on Friday August 3, 2018 at 10am in St. Anthony de Padua Church, 84 Salem St. Fitchburg, MA. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
The Westminster Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 123 Main St., Westminster, is directing funeral arrangements.
