Michael Kempf, SFC, US Army, Ret, lost his life on February 4th, 2018, from injuries sustained in the Amtrak/CSX accident in South Carolina.
Michael is survived by His wife of 10 years, Divas Kempf, and his mother Catherin. Michael also leaves behind two sisters and 2 brothers, three children and two granddaughters.
Michael came to Savannah while stationed at Fort Steward while on active duty with the U.S. Army, from which he retired in February 2003, after 20 years of service to our great country. Following his military retirement, Michael worked as a train engineer for both CSX and Amtrak railroads.
There will a time of visitation at the Richmond Hill Funeral Home, located at 8901 Ford Ave. Richmond Hill, GA on Wednesday from 5-7 pm.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 2pm with a prior time of visitation beginning at 1:00pm.
