Dorothy Wegmann, 84, of Montrose, PA, passed away after an extended illness, on Thursday, January 26, 2017, at Gracious Living Estates. She was born on October 26, 1932 in Staten Island, NY, but raised in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Arthur D. and Ethel M. (Meleby) Nicholsen. Her husband of 27 years, Harold A. Wegmann, predeceased her on January 25, 2009.
Surviving is her sister and brother-in-law, Janet E. and Henry Carlsen, Ringwood, NJ, two Goddaughters and spouses, Barbara and Gary Stroming, Staten Island, NY, Lisa J. and Gary Skeens, Virginia, three nephews, Mr. & Mrs. Thomas DelCore, Somerset, NJ, Mr. & Mrs. Mark Carlsen, Ringwood, NJ, Mr. & Mrs. Eric Carlsen, Cape Cod, MA. She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Helen M. and Albert DelCore.
Dorothy was an ardent Dodgers fan. She worked as a mortgage accountant at Dime Savings Bank of NY. She loved bowling, quilting, crocheting, and many other arts and crafts. The best of years of Dorothy’s life were the 27 she spent with her husband, Harold.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2017, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Tunkhannock, PA, with Pastor Murray Brindle officiating. Interment will be in the Holy Name of Mary Cemetery, Montrose, PA.
