A sweet and gentle soul Kenneth Edward "Ed" Marshall passed on to a better place on January 4th after a short illness. Ed was born on November 28, 1937 in Caliente, NV. Ed was a graduate of Oregon State University with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany as an Artillery Officer after graduation. He began his career at Shell Chemical and was in the first wave of their employees to move to Houston,TX where he spent his working career in various aspects of the plastics industry. He was President of the Society of Plastics Engineers. He loved family, racing vintage Porsches, riding in the Real Ale Bike Ride, woodworking and growing the perfect tomato. Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Melba and Thomas, brother Bill, and first wife Sheila. He is survived by his wife Joanne, brother Richard of Portland, Oregon, sister-in-law Ann and niece Michelle of Utah, son Steve (Marie) Marshall of Austin, daughter Heather (Casey) Hauge of Houston, stepsons Will (Theresa) Ross of Arlington and David (Janice) Ross of Bunbury, Western Australia. Grandchildren Tabitha, Mario Jr. , and Angela Fuoco, Katie, Ian, Rafe, and Lauren Marshall, and Grayson, Carli, and Wallea Ross. Great grandchildren Christopher and Elizabeth Del Cotto, Molly and Payton Fuoco, and Riley Caldwell.
There will be a Reception/Wake at the Old Blanco County Courthouse in Blanco,TX on Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 2pm-4pm. A private memorial will be held at a later date. Donations can be made in Ed's honor to Acres of Love Animal Rescue, Keep Blanco Beautiful, and Blanco County Cat Coalition
